Canon scanner won't run in Suse

My son loaded this OS for me last week and I don't have much experience working with it. Most things working OK but my scanner won't work at all. He made a separate windows partition and the scanner is working in that after I loaded the software that came with it. Any idea how to to make it work in SUSE? It's a Canoscan Lide 50. Thanks. Ruth

To scan you will have to go into Windows.

Clicking on yours shows some work on an experimental driver, but not available yet.
