cannot run in frame buffer mode in gentoo
 

I am trying to get my new gentoo install up and running but the recent upgrade to a newer kernel has resulted in startx on working and moaing about "cannot run in frame buffer mode"

the older kernel 2.6.16-r13 ran fine with the vesafb option on. can someone tell me how i may fix this and get it to boot into kde?

I think I solved it, i removed the VESA framebuffer module from the kernel and loaded the nividia modules with a correct xorg.conf file. seems to work :)
