cannot navigate to /ect directory, anyone know why that is?

when I ls I can see it, just when I try to cd /ect it says no such file or directory, which is *** because I know its there. Im trying to locate the default directory that appache uses so I can navigate to it and edit my html into the default file,, I tried locate default.html, index.html, and I cannot locate the magik file that contains "it works"

(Ubuntu Hardy) Latest update.

If you're literally typing "ect", then that's the problem - it should be "etc", for "et cetera".

Also, please don't use "gay" like that - it seems homophobic.

Let's start from reviewing LQ rules:
Quote:
Do not post any messages that are obscene, vulgar, sexually-orientated, hateful, threatening, or otherwise violative of any laws.
That's the reason for post edits. Because of the language, it seems that this thread can't go back to purely technical topics, so I'm closing it. If the original poster wants to ask the same question again, but this time with more appropriate language, he is free to do so.
