Question cannot mount cd,dvd drive under mandriva one 2010

Having trouble mounting cd dvd under mandriva 2010.tried bash with su command and then# mount media/cdrom.but got this reply
"mount:wromg fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/sr0,
missing code page or helper program, or other error
In some cases useful info is found in syslog - try
dmesg | tail or so"

hi

could you mention are these data cd or dvds or audio cds or movie dvds?

2) You should be able to mount data media but audio/video just need a player to run them.....assuming you a member of audio and video groups

hmm well you appear to have 2 issues but I no longer use Mandriva.

I suggest you go into MCC or the mandriva control panel and delete your current repositories and create some new ones.

You could try this site?

please start a new post in http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/mandriva-30/ on your system repositories.

Once that is resolved....come back here and say so.....then we can look at your media issues
