Cannot install nic drivers in rhel5

I have installed RHEL5 on my new system - quad core and intel MotherBoard). For some reason I can't seem to get the NIC installed (onboard Realtek 8168/8111 gigbit nic).
No internet connection in RHEL 5
This is a Dual boot system.
Kernel 2.6.18-8.el5/build i386
please suggest
I am new to linux.

RHEL5 more than likey should already have the driver built into the kernel.

Do you have any connectivity at all? How is your network setup modem>router>pc? Do you have a DHCP server running on your router?

The built in driver shows r8169
The computer does not detect the r8168 drivers
Internet connectivity is only with the windows system (dual boot)
DHCP Server running on router
