cannot install modem on backtrack 5, enable universe


how can i enable universe on backtrack 5? I am trying to install a huawei modem and i get a response of enable universe. that is when i type 'apt-get update' or any other command like 'nedit'.
somebody help

In /etc/apt/sources.list uncomment the lines that say 'universe'. Then do apt-get update.

hey I am a newbie so i dont know how to unquote and anyway there is no line that says universe. there are three lines that go like this;
deb http://all.repository.backtrack-linux.org revolution main microverse non-free testing
deb http://32.repository.backtrack-linux.org revolution main microverse non-free testing
deb http://source.repository.backtrack-linux.org revolution main microverse non-free testing
