Cannot Install Macromedia Flash Player on Kubuntu 6.06

Hello,

I'm a fairly newbie to GNU/Linux, and had a very pleasant experience so far, starting with Ubuntu 5.04, upgraded to Kubuntu 6.06 - like the look and feel more of the KDE desktop. Still using XP to listen to my music, but everything else basically happens in Kubuntu.

The problem I have is that I cannot succeed in installing flash player in Kubuntu. I have tried to auto installed it in both konqueror & firefox, as well as thru adept, as well as a manual install - no success. I also tried to follow the guidelines for a manual install from the macromedia/adobe download site - to no avail.

I fairly sure I'm just missing something small, but WHAT?

Your advice will be greatly appreciated if you can point me in the right direction.

Regards

Koper

Hi

I was just about to suggest EasyUbuntu as well. As well as installing Flash, it can also install stuff like Java and various codecs (eg. MP3) that aren't included with the distro for licensing reasons.
