Cannot get KDE to boot up (MDK10.0)

Hi,
I cannot seem to get the desktop to appear. I just go straight to a command
prompt. I never even got the First time boot up screen. Can someone please
let me know what I have to do to boot up with KDE???

At the command prompt, type: startx
The CLI will output errors, if there are any, if not your GUI will startup.
If you get errors make a note of them and post back - you're sure to get some help.
BTW - Welcome to LQ!

EDIT You could also do a search for any errors you get - there are loads of threads here about X not starting - this might yeild a quicker answer to your question.

I did get errors after I typed startx

execve failed for /etc/X11/X (errno 13)
giving up
xinit: No such file or directory (errno 2): unable to connect to X server
xinit: No such process (errno3): Server error.

Maybe I did not install correctly??? I installed on Windows XP home. I made sure the partition I used to install Mandrake was FAT32. Should I be reinstalling the OS??
