Cannot get debian to boot from usb.

I recently loaded a 32 bit debian on an 64 bit ASUS and did not realize my mistake until it was finished. I would like to install the 64 instead but now the ASUS will not give me the boot option screen. I have changed the boot selection in bios (the usb I'm using appears) but it will not boot from it when I restart. I cannot get f12 to bring up the boot options as well (use to work before I loaded debian 32 bit)

Any suggestions?

Hello and welcome to LQ.

32 bit on a 64 bit computer isn't really a mistake. It may be the just fine.

If you have a working usb install media you generally need to move it up in bios order to a hard drive order choice. Not a usb choice. Some boot time F key menus can select it.

Does usb show up in hard drive bios order menu?

As to F12, you may have to press it a number of times early, some other key like F9 or try external keyboard even. Exact make and model may help us.

The usb does show up in bios as a boot option but no matter what I do it will not boot from it after a restart.
