Cannot figure out why PuTTY is overwriting my command line if it gets to long

So I have recently started to have this issue that PuTTY messes up the command line. Either it overwrites the command line or it jumps the rest of the command all over the place either above or below the line that I am typing. I have done some research on this and have found that the common cause of this is not having color codes in escaped []. So I have tried this but this does nothing with the overwriting but the code does not jump all over the screen anymore. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks for your time.
