Cannot Enable Sound Card as Primary Audio

I'm using Fedora 6, and I've had this problem in the past. I have a Creative SB Audigy 2 along with onboard sound. It seems that drivers for both devices are installed, as I can actually hear the sound test file when I test it for my SC. The problem is that whenever I try to switch my primary audio device to my sound card, within the "Soundcard Detection Module", it simply defaults back to the onboard audio.

It seems the gui module may be bugged. Could there be a command I could run to set my primary device to my SC? Or possibly a way of uninstalling the onboard all together?

If the onboard sound uses a different driver than the Audigy, and if the Audigy does not also need the same driver as a dependency for it's own driver, you may be able to disable onboard audio by unloading the driver for the onboard card. As root, rmmod <drivername> to unload the driver.

Then look into /etc/modprobe.conf (or possibly modules.conf). Look for the line that loads that driver, and comment it out (place a # at the beginning of the line) to permanently disable it. At any time, you can always remove the # to re-enable it.
