Cannot configure dial up connection to ISP

Have obtained live CD's for Ubuntu,Knoppix, Vector Soho, and PCLinuxos. Have run all the live CD's and loaded Ubuntu on to the hard disk with out any problems but have been unable to establish an internet connection using dial up networking to my ISP. Cannot find any instructions on the CD's. Can any one tell me whre to access this information?
Any help would be appreciated.

I probably would bet instructions for setting up dialup are not on the CD anywhere. Pppd has dialing scripts, man pppd. It also is a must to have an external modem. Internal modems don't really work with linux.
