cannot compile imlib

other compilations have worked, but when i go to compile imlib (so i can run eterm) i get this..

[captaincrunch@localhost imlib-1.9.14]$ ./configure

aclocal.m4    config.log    Imlib            INSTALL        README
AUTHORS       config.sub    imlib-config.1   install-sh
ChangeLog     configure      utils

config.cache  COPYING.LIB      missing
i show the folder contents incase i may be missing something.

P.S this is on Fedora Core 1

You need to install gcc. The rpms are on the cd's.
