I was trying to install redhat linux 9 on my old pc(pentium II). I was not able to install it. It used to go blank as soon as the first screen comes up during installation. It goes blank just before the media chaeck. So i took out the hard disk and fixed it to the new pc and installed linux. It worked fine. evrything was fine until the hard drive was in new one. As soon as I installed it on old one it is not booting. It comes to the screen where it shows the list of OS to boot and it restarts. Itried it on new one again and its working fine. Does some one know anything about this problem. please help me.

maybe u can try to install in low resolution and afterwards change the settings.also please check up the RAM requirements for xFree86.
i am also a newbie but now working comfortably with rh9...so pl give a try.

Thanks for your reply I tried it but didnot work. but it helped me in finding that my video adapter is not compatible with it. probably I have to change it.
