Cannot boot; Segmentation fault. Can I ftp?

OKay, at his point I just want to save many php programs I wrote. How can I do that?

I use the CD to boot with:Linux rescue, I can mount my floppy but I can't see the /home folder.

I try to mount the floppy and I get a segmentation fault error.

I try to ftp and it just sits there. I booted, with the CD, with networking and dhcp I get the correct address but I can't ping anything or ftp anywhere.

Can I rescue some of my data?

Evan

GOT IT!!!!!

I booted from the CD. Switched with chroot /mns/sysimage. Then I did:

/sbin/service vsftpd start

Bingo!

I was able to ftp from my laptop and got my php text files. Now, I think I'll re-install. Or perhaps I'll wait a few more minutes to see if an expert will have some magic to help with.

I am wondering what went wrong though.

Evan
