cannot authenticate in software centre
 

After getting fed up with logging on every time I leave the computer I disabled my password in System Settings User accounts. I still get asked to enter my password on startup but when I try to install a programme from the software centre my password isn't recognised. Is there a way of resetting the password option in System Settings, as at the moment when I try my password isn't recognised.
Otherwisw every thing works fine.

Did you try single user mode and "passwd" to reset password?

I tried resetting my password using safe mode but with no success, so I tried the same method ie passwd username etc in a terminal and it worked, much easier than running safe mode. Thanks for your query though.
