cannot access images


hi
i am devloping a site on linux platform.i have assigned public ip to my system but when i am accessing my site from a remote machine then i am unable to access the images.i think the problem is because i have given a local path for images.
can anyone help me solve this problem.

use relative path's for images.
[ /images/ not /usr/local/htdocs/images/ ]
and make sure the images are in a folder that the webserver can access.
