cand brows shares from linux to linux(works with windows)

I'm trying to use samba to share files between Gentoo and OpenSuse.

Everything is found and working on a windows 7 machine but I cant find the Gentoo computer on the OpenSuse computer or the other way around.

Any special process to do this?
