Question Can yu run linux inside windows?

I heard that maybe you could run a form of linux inside windows. Is this true?

Yea, with VMware or other similar softwares.

For command line only, try cygwin.
You can't run X, or any apps that need X, but command line utilities work reasonably well

Cygwin can do X. And runs WindowMaker, Openbox, some others on top. Just runs like a Windows application. With a dropdown taskbar to let it go full screen it looks just like X and a wm except for the titlebar and borders.
