Can you add spacing in Thunderbird Mail to differentiate email dates?

Hello,

Does anyone know if there is a setting in Thunderbird Mail to set the layout similar to Outlook? If you look at the attached picture, you can see in Outlook that between each day, there is a ‘spacer’, ‘border’, etc. But in Thunderbird Mail, all of the emails are just crunched together and it is difficult for me to read without some kind of spacing between the different dates. Hopefully this makes sense.

Thanks in advance!

The closest to the example appears to be View -> Sort by -> Date, then View -> Sort by -> Grouped by Sort. Not exactly what was asked for, but very similar, IMO

I highly doubt if there is such a setting. But you can add it to the wishlist for thunderbird.

I think that will work! Thank you very much for the help - I would never have figured this solution out.

Poking around the settings and menus and trying stuff often works for me. Glad to have been of assistance.

The only (negative) thing I noticed about this solution is that when you switch between email accounts, unfortunately it seems to collapse the dates if you previous expand them. Meaning if you go to your Gmail account and expand all of the 'Group Sort' dates, then go to your Hotmail account, if you come back to your Gmail account, the dates are now collapsed.

I'm not seeing that behavior, but I note that the View settings must be applied to each folder individually...they're not universally applied. Just setting that up could be onerous if you have a gazillion folders as I do.

Hmm, I guess I should have stated that I went into each of my email accounts and expanded the 4 dates (Yesterday, Last 7 days, Last 14 days, Older) in each in-box. Then say if I jump between in-boxes, all of the dates collapse on all of my accounts. Then I have to manually expand each of the in-boxes again.

Hopefully that makes sense?

Ok cool... thank you. It's strange that mine in collapsing, but it is only a small annoyance.
