Question Can write GRUB at first sector of MBR


hai guys,

Recently i installed Redhat linux onto my PC and was successful.But when it asked where to write GRUB I preferred hda6 partition to MBR.If write GRUB onto first sector of MBR is it going to fiddle with Windows boot sector?

You'll still be able to boot windows, you just have to setup grub to do it. Grub has excellent documentation at www.gnu.org/softwate/grub

If you are dual booting with Windows, it is preferrable to place the boot loader at the first sector of the boot partition.
