Can someone help me choose a couple good intro books for coding and compiling linux d

Hello. I think the best way to narrow this question down is to present my objective. I want to use the Chromium OS on older computers; the driver support that is usually available for other Linux distro's is not present for the Chromium OS. This is my second post. I've been looking at some of the linux books and would be grateful for a little direction. What I need to thoroughly understand is; the Linux Kernel and how drivers and other programs function around it, AND Linux coding. My experience (limited) is DOS Assembly. Can someone suggest some titles, and please include at least one technical reference.

Thank you in advance for your time and consideration.

Specifically this page http://www.linuxtopia.org/online_boo...nel_index.html and in fact that entire website has free-to-read manuals/books on every aspect.

HTH & Welcome to LQ :)
