Exclamation can portal server used for integration of various server

Hello friends,

Scenario: I want to use single server as an integration of all
server, that are ldap, mail, samba, ftp, database, dns
and web based management of all servers.
for example, If any mail client wants to mail, then he can request
through web, and authentication can be done through ldap and
then he can access mail server for his request.

I don't know, from where to start..
Can I do all this with portal server...
or from where I can get required packages and tutorials..

I used google search, but not got proper idea..
so please, help me..

thanks...

This is a difficult and complex process. Pick the distribution you want to use and work to get an LDAP server setup. Once that is configured you have to go one by one and configure the other ones. This is really just basic stuff but you will have to do them one by one. There isn't like a specific package set and walk through to do this.

Arrow

thanks a lot for your suggestion.

I am working on RHEL5 and configured ldap, dns, sendmail, dhcp, ftp, samba

now how can I integrate samba and ldap to work together,
I mean, whenever ldap user login from xp (microsoft ldap client), users home folder and profile must be stored on samba server. (which is also
ldap server).

I used www.linuxhomenetworking.com website for configuration of ldap
as well as samba.

my smb.conf file is here, but it is not working as per my requirement.
[global]
workgroup = HOMENET
netbios name = linux
passdb backend = ldapsam:ldap://localhost:389
username map = /etc/samba/smbusers
printcap name= cups
priniting = cups
logon path = \\%L\profiles
logon drive = H:
logon home = \\L\%U
domain logons = yes
os level = 33
prefered master = yes
domain master = no
ldap suffix = dc=example,dc=com
ldap machine suffix = ou=People
ldap user suffix = dc=example,dc=com
ldap idmap sufix = ou=People
ldap admin dn = cn=Manager
ldap ssl = no
ldap passwd sync = yes
idmap uid = 15000-20000
idmap gid = 15000-20000

thanks...
