can ping VM but Chrome could not connect

Windows 8.1 running VMplayer CentOS with TWiki-6.0.0-1 Wiki.
Downloaded Twiki and copied to VM.
Configured eth0 for dynamic addressing.

ifconfig gives an address of 192.168.1.90

Can ping 192.168.1.90 but Chrome cannot connect to 192.168.1.90

Am I doing something wrong?

Any help welcome.
D.

Does it mean you can not be able to access the twiki which was installed in your Centos VM? what is the error you got it?

Go to the vm client and see if you can access the wiki from within the client.

Depending on how you set vm network it could require different tasks. Nat or bridged.

That ip doesn't sound like a vm client nat but I don't remember.

Generally if you set the app up, you'd have to adjust firewalls and maybe other routing for the app.

>Wiki is just a bunch of webpages - I can see them from the command line.

>I have tried Nat and bridged.

>I have used similar in the past

>I have made the block of addresses a 'friend' in the firewall.

>The error is:
Oops! Google Chrome could not connect to 192.168.1.90

Try reloading: 192.*168.*1.*90

Thanks for you interest. Any more ideas?
