Unhappy Can OpenLdap display a mailbox list automatically???

Hi All,

I've installed and was playing with Openldap and I was wondering if it could replace say a Microsoft Exchange Global Address List?

I know it brings up the possible names etc but I REALLY need to present a address list to my network users not just when they search... Can OpenLdap do this or what would my options be?

Thanks very much in advance, I've done searching but am not finding a alternetive or a way to do such a thing.

L8r,
Vince

I do not know an answer on your question yet, because i can't install OpenLdap yet. Could you tell me what installation package you used? Have you installed database, like Berkeley DB in prior? What version of Linux?

your right that doesn't help me... {smile}

Yes you have to update the BerkleyDB files or it will not be able to run the ./configure (My experience with RH9 anyway)

After you update the BerkleyDB files I downloaded the latest openldap files and you have to build the install etc with ./configure --with berkelydb etc etc I really can't remember the webpage I got that info on but that should save you some grief.

BerkleyDB files were version 4.1.25
and Openldap was version 2.1.22

Hope that helps you get started.
