Can only import VPN file - Debian Jessie

Hi all,

This question has probably been asked before however all the threads I have read contains an alternative fix.

I find in Debian I cannot create a PPTP connection from Network Manager. It asks me to import a VPN file.

Is there a way to include this feature in the Network Manager or will I have to use the alternate methods.

IE: Dialling from the command line

or

Importing a VPN file.

The reason I ask is that I have recenetly moved over from Ubuntu and found this feature was available.

If this is not possible could you perhaps provide me with the "best" thread to help me get it working?

Thank you
Marios

You'll need all the necessary network-manager packages, such as network-manager-pptp, network-manager-gnome, network-manager-pptp-gnome, and maybe others. Debian installs fewer packages than Ubuntu. So, sometimes you must add the necessary plugins.

Thank you for the reply. Will this then solve my issue or will I have to use another piece of software? IE: command line, or other? I am trying to still use the provided network manager.
