Can not login to Ubuntu /etc/enviroment problem

Dear all,

I would be really obliged to anyone that knows how is it possible to avoid reinstallation of my Ubuntu after setting up a wrong classpath for Java in /etc/enviroment file. After the set up I can not login to my Ubuntu account neither to the guest account. I am now using a Live CD usb image and I was thinking if there is anyway to edit again the /etc/enviroment file using the Live CD.

Thank you.

You can mount the partition, on which /etc is located and the edit the specific file.
Good luck!

P.S.: you may use a linux live CD like Gentoo install cd.
