Can Not Load GNOME in SuSe 10.1

I have SuSe 10.1 and have been experimenting in KDE but when I tried to switch back to GNOME, it simple won't load. It starts loading and just stops when it's showing that it's loading nautilus and that's it. It just shows a blue screen and mouse pointer.

have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the gnome desktop

I thought of that but the only problem was that it was my user profile ONLY that was not able to load GNOME. In the end I just backed up my data, deleted the user and added the user again and it worked. I am sure that must be a better way to do it but then, I dont know it.
