Can not get nvidia drivers to work, when I did cinnamon de was crashing.
A complete noob here. I know about linux nothing at all(maybe I do know something from my researches about android but still). And I just decided to leave Windows for Linux, because I've always hated Windows, but could not do it, 'cause I was playing a lot of win games. So installed Linux Mint alongside Windows, but I can not get nvidia drivers to work or even load at all. I have a Nvidia GT630 and I have my VGA-monitor connected to my DVI-only video-card using an adapter. Any help? I really want to use, learn and enjoy Linux, but I just can't.
Here's my Xorg.log, I think it might help. Thanks! |

Open a terminal and execute : sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install nvidia-352 sudo reboot |

What I did: Code:
sudo update-alternatives --config x86_64-linux-gnu_gl_conf Edit: My updated Xorg log. AFAIU there's some kind of a problem with memory overloading... Edit2: So I fixed cinnamon crash by removing $/.cinnamon and reinstalling it from software manager. Now everything works great. Thanks! |
