Can not come to setup
Hello,
Impossible to reach "SETUP" at start up. Bios is ASUS version:1103 and motherboard ASUS Z87-K Should come there with "Delete key" pressed. I functioned a month ago. Got some updates after that. I use Scientific Linux ver. 7.1 and KDE ver. 4.10.5-4el7. What could have happened to have that results? Thanks for some hints! ostene |
Hi,
The phase of the startup where you hit the Del key to enter setup stands completely loose from the OS as the OS is yet to be loaded, besides, even that only happens AFTER the Grub comes in the picture... I'd suggest to hook up an external keyboard and try with that... No matter what you do (besides actually putting the laptop on fire) to the system, the Del to enter setup is always available.. :) Melissa Edit - I assumed you have a laptop judging from the ASUS... |

Some people hammer furiously at the delete key to try and access the BIOS menus while, at that point, the keyboard is being scanned to see if any key is being held down. Hammering at the key just stresses the mechanism and does not increase your chance of entering the BIOS. My :twocents: Play Bonny! :hattip: |
can not enter setup
Yes, old and absent-minded makes jokes to me.
I moved my old HP-printer between two PC:s and connected the printer USB-cable to an USB 3.0 port, resulting in malfunction. Thanks. |
As an aside, Asus manufactures desktop motherboards as well as laptops. They started as a motherboard manufacturer, and only later started making laptops. I don't know about this particular model.
