can not authenticate user with fedora 9 on login
 

I installed fedora 9 and get to the login page,click on my user name,

when I type my password and click on login it tells me 'cannot

authenticate user' I know I can use use the the install DVD go to

rescue,but it is only text I do not know what to type.

It is is obvious I am a newbie.I think I used the same name for

both the user name and the computer name could that make a

difference ?

Do not use it as a normal practice , on the login screen choice others
Type as user name root and root password .
So you run this session as root
Create a new user including password.
And logout as soon as you are finished
