Can No Longer Print
Hello,
When I had Linux Mandrake 10.1 installed on my laptop, I installed the driver for my hp deskjet 845c and called it "MyPrinter."
Yesterday--I could print just fine--from Firefox, OpenOffice, etc.
Now--nothing. I've unplugged and replugged cable--the print console says its filling up with jobs--but nothing's printing...
Any Ideas?
Please Let Me Know If You Need Any More Information!
Thanks!!!

have you modified ANYTHING or done anything abnormal between when you were last able to print and when you discovered that you could not print.

I have some new information which I think is relevant...
I thought I would just remove my printer and "recreate" it...
However, when I try and remove my current local printing resource, I receive the following error message:
"You are not authorized to access the requested resource."
I did a logout session /restart.
Same error message.

You're going to have to help me out here... I'm not doing anything but turning my laptop on and going straight into Mandrake--is there something else I should be doing?
Thanks!!!

Type in a browser localhost:631 and then press administration and then
Code:
root
your-root-password
then you can remove and add your printer,it may be a little confusing so if you have any ? ask away.

THANKS for ALL the help--it really is most appreciated!
Unfortunately, when I key in what is my root username and password, the window requesting that information pops back up again.
I'm pretty sure my ID & password is correct--is there a way I can verify this? Or reset it if necessary?
I'll be waiting to hear back... :-)

Your root username is the same as mine root. And your password is the password you set up for root not your username password.

Hi Cookie,
My friendly neighborhood Linux Expert stopped by and helped me out--I'm all set and I can print again.
THANKS for all your patience and help.
I think this thread can be closed--but once again, thanks to all who posted!
I'm sure I'll be back with more questions.... :-)
Regards,
