Can Linux connect to Att.Net?
I just installed Xandros on a seperate partition with windows xp on another partition. So far evcerything works except connectiong to Worldnet.att.net. I can get through to the isp but cannot connect. I went to their web site and it appears they do not support Linux. i don't want to have to get another isp and have to tell everyone a new address. Is there another way?

im confused.
can you explain the situation again? who doesnt support linux, this ISP? how do they not support it? it shouldnt matter what OS you use. |
i used to use att worldnet. they don't "support" it (the tech support people are clueless) but it works just fine. most likely just a minor configuration issue.

If your using KPPP and are getting connected verifying username and PW, then it's a DNS problem.
Open KPPP >> Configure >> Edit Connection >> DNS Add these numbers: 204.127.129.1 204.127.160.1 Add the Domain att.net Keep the IP Dynamic. This should connect you... KC |
problem solved
Thanks for the info. It was just enough to confirm what I suspected. It is better to know than suspect. After changing and unchanging everything several times it suddenly connected, unfortunately i don't know exactly what the problem was. It seemed to be mostly involved with my user ID and connection speed. i don;t know how we end these things so i will just go on to my next problem.
