Can I Save LiveCD settings?
I've downloaded a few LiveCD versions of Linux Distros and was wondering if there is a way to save the basic settings to my hard drive so I don't have to re-do them every time I run the LiveCD? I'm referring to setttings such as monitor resolution, desktop icons, fonts, etc.
Thanks

Well, think about this real hard.... and you should know the answer to that...
Unless its the suse cd, which does save its settings.

Some live Cds, such as Mandrake Move, prompt for a USB memory stick. They then create a directory on the memory stick with all the users settings, documents, etc.
Then each time you use the live CD, you also insert the memory stick and your settings are remembered.

Every LiveCD has README. Whether hd save is supported or not is usually reflected in that README.

Thanks for the responses. I will read the READMe files. I have SUSE, Mandrake, and Mepis LiveCDs. I do have Slackware 9.1 installed on my hard drive but it's been difficult trying to learn it.
