Can I recover Virtual Box Hard Drive Image (hdi)?

Hello.
While trying to free up space on my computer, I clicked on the "Delete this snapshot" in VirtualBox. For some reason, it set my virtual hard drive back to the way it was when I first installed Windows on it.

I had an insane amount of important data on that partition that I was too stupid to keep on a regular hard drive, and my backup was not very recent. Is there any way to recover that data? I am currently attempting to use PhotoRec from RIP.

Does anybody know of a way to recover this data? My GNU/Linux partition is ext3, and my Windows partition was Fat32. I turned my computer off right as I realized I had deleted the file, but there was a large download going on in the background when I deleted it.

Thank you all so much for your help!!!

EDIT: Oops. In the title I said it was an "hdi" not a "vdi".
