Can I record a TV prog while streaming it?

Can I record a TV prog while streaming it, to watch later?

If so how is this done?

I would like to do this not using Get_iPlayer as I can't get to work on CH4 or ITV.

You could take a look at MythTV, but I think it's a howitzer where you are looking for a popgun.

I have recorded an online seminar with recordmydesktop. If you are looking for something (relativewly) simple to use on a case-by-case basis, that should do the trick.

I am using the PC Dell (above). I do not have a television, nor Set Top Box.
I use Get_iPlayer for BBC and normally have to watch ITV & CH4 by streaming the day after broadcast as I do not have TV license.

I normally use Movie Player to playback the recording from BBC and stream using Firefox Browser from itv or ch4 from their website.
