can i install rh7.3 pgms on rh9? how?
 

seem to have lost my beloved wanda the gnome fish and the net monitor when i upgraded to rh9. can i get them back? also, can't find how to access the net wi/o using the internet configuration tool. is there a switch somewhere i can't find? if not,how can i install these applets from rh7.3 on rh9?

Right-click on panel -> Add to panel -> Amusements -> Fish
Right-click on panel -> Add to panel -> Internet -> Modem Lights

If they're not there, you'll need to install them off cd if that's what you used.

If your on dialup you can use kppp.

thanks for the info. i'd not thought that there would be another little, tiny spot at the very end of the panel where these things are. modemlights looks good, but i haven't tried it yet. wanda just tells me i'm on shrike, and won't change to a fortune.
i was not able to find the names for these things when i installed the distro originally. they were easy to find in 7.3, as applets, under entertainment. if i can't get the wanda to reveal fortunes, what do i look for in the rpm's?
