can I install linux on a desktop that windows xp wont boot up
I have a eMachine T6414 that I am not able to recovery my Windows xp operating system Can I install Linux on a desktop that wont boot up?
Thanks for any help, either loading windows xp or load linux. |
You can try to boot up Knoppix or any other LiveCD version of Linux and recover/copy your personal files/data from the Windows partition before attempting any installation on the hard disk. Have you a clue about the problem?

I guess it depends on why you can't recover Windows.......
If it boots from a Linux live CD---and the hard drive has not physically failed---then I'm sure you can install Linux. Do you have a Windows installation CD? |
