Can I Install Fedora Core 1 using the first cd only?

Good Day,

I downloaded "yarrow-i386-disc1.iso" and burned it to a cd. Only later did I realize that there are 2 more cds to go for the complete Fedora Core 1 and I used dial-up in the first iso download (took me a week). I don't have the heart anymore to download the next 2 other cds. So I would like to ask if I can install Fedora with the first cd only, I just need a working graphical OS with openoffice and a basic web browser.

It would basically depend on the applications available in the first CD. So, i can't be too sure if u will get what u need.

What u are asking for is pretty basic and I think(but I am not sure) the first install CD should be sufficient for your needs.

You can use just one disc..I did it myself last night to put a linux file system on a drive. You just select 'minimal packages" (or something like that) and away it goes. But...the downside is that there is no gui so unless you're a linux command line master I wouldn't recommend it.

Thanx!

Thanks everone.......

I'll try to install it now........and if it doesn't work, I have copies of some older distributions anyway that may help......
Oh, ya, I almost forgot, what's a good linux distro for an old Twinhead laptop with a spec of:

Pentium 266Mhz with MMX
64MB Ram....used to be 32 but I upgraded it
4 GB hardrive....not sure if I can upgrade it coz of a BIOS barrier or something I read somewhere....not sure.....
