Question Can I increase time before having to reenter username and password?

Please help--

I have Debian Linux with GNOME desktop manager. If I'm away from my computer over 10 minutes, I'm required to reenter my username and password. Is there any way to increase the time between logins?

Thanks!

howzit

well if I understtod u correctly it logs u out compeltely and if that is the case then edit /etc/profile and set TMOUT=7200 this will log u out after 2hours with no activity.

If it's not the above that u are looking for it might be that u're screensaver is set to low try and change this with a higher value and there will be an option that says to lock screen if u disable this option it won't lock u're pc
