Angry Can I get a quick response? Please!

My question is rather simple. If I install Linux on my computer will I be able to use my current programs with Linux. Running Win XP presently. Thanks

I would say a solid "maybe" to that one. Depends on what your "current programs" are. Some will run in WINE, some have FOSS analogues, and on some (Flash Studio, etc.) you're just SOL. *shrug*

You could always dual-boot... :D

That subject was a bit more polite than the usual "urgent", but not really much better.

Put the real question in the subject line for better responses.

We don't know what programs you run under Windows, so we don't know whether you can still use them in Linux. Mostly people can't or at least don't use the same programs.

For web browsers and other popular software it is better to use a native Linux program that does the same job.

For some programs it is easy to run the Windows .exe file using Wine in Linux.

For many program, especially games, it is hard either to find an equivalent or to run the Windows exe under Wine.
