Can I fill remaining space with zeros on DVD

hi

If I burn a dvd disc and have 500MBs free space can I fill the remaining free space with zeros while still maintaing compatibility -- and if yes how?

I can't imagine why you would do that, but it is pretty simple: Just create a file containing zeroes with the appropriate size and add it to the DVD.
