can I download Linux Mint to a 32GB usb flash drive and make it bootable? Tech Support Guy System Info Utility version 1.0.0.9

Hi, ocalabarry1949 and welcome to LQ.

You can certainly download Mint to a USB Drive. You could then make a dvd.

Whether you could boot Mint from a USB drive is a more complicated question and UEFI would probably be the biggest hurdle.

In general, there are live usb distributions more suited to the task of running from USB drives. Mint wants regular updates, but usb is not a normal boot option. It's an option that says "No, don't boot normally; use this thing …" and the BIOS starts it at sector 0. What happens after that can vary.

Mint runs just fine as a liveCD system - read the doco and it tells you how to install the image onto a USB. Even from Windows.

Welcome to LinuxQuestions.

The correct steps are to download the ISO file to your Downloads directory then write it to the flash drive. As suggested you should read the installation guide. https://linuxmint-installation-guide....io/en/latest/

It suggests using Etcher to wite the ISO file to flash drive.
