can I disable cdparanoia checking in konqueror ripping

can I disable cdparanoia checking in konqueror ripping
I am in kubuntu 8.04. I want to try Konqueror for ripping. I understand Konqueror uses cdparanoia. Is it possible to disable error ckecking in cdparanoia to speed up ripping using Konqueror, as in grip?
The kio-multimedia-plugin configuration settings for programs like konqueror and k3b are found in the kde control center (system settings on kde4) in a tab called "audio cd". You can turn off the extra error checking there.
