CAn I access USB without..


Hi,
I am new to linux and am working with debian. I dont have root permissions on this system, so I wanted to know if I could access USB drive as a user.

Hi,

it depends on how it is mounted. Look at /etc/fstab and check if the relevant mount point has option 'user' or 'users'. There exist automounters (e.g. in gnome), I am not quite sure how these are configured.

The second requirement is that /mnt/... or wherever it is mounted, must be accessible for you.

Both of these requirements are easy to set up, but only by root.
