I`m having trouble with my internet connection. My modem is fine, my connection will dial up and connect without problems. I can use Telnet, IRC, FTP everything, but I can`t view any thing that uses the HTTP protocol. I can ping a web site, I have used the "dig" command and returned perfect results. My proxy and DNS settings are correct. Everything seems normal. I am using NTL home as an ISP. The only site that I can connect to is the NTL registration server. I can go there using it`s IP address or www. address. But I can`t go anywhere else. I have tried Netscape, Lynx and something else I can`t remember the name of. The netscape error message reads "Connection rest by peer". There dosn`t seem to be anything else that can stop it, but I would love to hear any ideas......

Look into your firewalling. It may be that port 80 is blocked (there might me other ports used for http connections, so some sites may be viewable).
ipchains -L or iptables -L
And look what it says.
