Can audio pass through to a VNC client?

hi

From the vnc client, if I click on a media file with audio that is on the server, will the audio play through the vnc client or will the audio be played within the server?

If the later is true, is there a way to get the audio to pass through the vcn connection and be heard on the vnc client? Thanks

vnc transmits pixels, mouse xy movements, keyboard inputs (eg visual only), for playing audio from remote, the server has to send audio stream to a client within another network protocol than vnc

I decided to continue using the vnc server for non-multimedia tasks and setup an additional server like DLNA for the multimedia tasks.
