Can anyone with windows help me out?
 

Id like someone to send me a recovery img of windows. I was hoping somebody could create a recovery image in Linuxs' and upload it to a file sharing site so I could restore it onto my HDD. Just make sure there are no personal files, it would be better if this was an xp distro of windows and if it were newly installed.

Just pirate it if you want it so bad. XP is no longer supported though. You should just get over your previous work habits and learn to adapt to something new. There's likely a better option anyway. I like OpenSUSE as a distro personally, but i think the desktop environment may be a more important matter to you. Consider Zorin. It attempts to replicate the Windows feel and everything. I've personally never tried it, but it sounds like it' be right up your ally.

As Knightron has pointed out, there is little point in using an unsupported OS like XP.

Your best bet would be W7.

There are still valid usecases for XP, though I can't think of one for a consumer machine. In any case, don't download a pirated version, those usually come with malware preinstalled. If you have a valid key download an ISO image from an authorized source, like PC River.

You need to find a seller of a genuine W7 + SP1 DVD, together with a genuine MS product key, such as this one:

You can't use that image as you planning. It will not boot.
You can do it for Linux image because almost all Linux distros has a lot of drivers installed and can be used on different hardware without any changes, just by copying HDD image to new destination.
Unlike Linux Windows lacks of these drivers, every Windows installation has it's specific drivers set only that suitable for particular hardware.
Being moved to another hardware such an image mostly will not boot due to lack of sata driver that suitable for new hardware.
Even if sata drivers the same on both donor and acceptor machines there are a lot of other drivers, and every one can cause a BSOD if it isn't suitable for donor hardware.

You have to ask for image that created on the same hardware (mobo at least). This case you will have some chances to boot into safe mode. If it will be successful you can install the rest of missing or replace unsuitable drivers.

It much more easy to download somewhere XP installation iso, burn it and install.
