First go here and download the .run file.
http://www.nvidia.com/object/linux_d..._1.0-5336.html
Then, exit X windows.
Change to the directory where you downloaded the file.
Type on the command line 'sh NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-5336-pkg1.run'
It will load the program to install the drivers. It then will try to find a driver for your kernel. It may not find one, and if it doesnt then it will make one real quick.
After that program finishes, stay in the console mode and open this file in an editor:(someone correct me if its not there in mandrake)
/etc/X11/XF86Config
Scroll down to the "Modules" section in the file, make sure the line "Load glx" is uncommented. Make sure the "Load dri" line IS commmented.
After you double check that, scroll down to the section called "Graphics Device Section". Its located more than halfway down the file. Then go down to where it says "Section device". Under that it should say "Driver something". Change "something" to "nvidia".
Save the file. Exit editor. 'startx'
if it worked then an nvidia white splash screen should appear
