Can anyone recommend a freeware FTP tool for an ASUS Laptop?

Hi,

I am new to this forum, so apologies if this question has already been posted!

I have one of these wonderful Asus Eee PC's running linux - At last something that works without crashing! I am not too familiar with the Linux platform nor the freebie downloads available. Looking for an linux equivalent to AceFtP that will run successfully on my ASUS Eee PC.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in Advance.

Perry

There are many ftp clients for Linux.
The net-ftp utility is used by many from the command line ... though I think you are asking for a good GUI FTP client.

I didn't have a eee so can't confirm what they have at their repository.

However, I've been using FileZilla which have a GUI and is open sourced.

'gftp' is a simple FTP tool with a graphical interface. I'm using it for almost an entire decade and never found a reason to look for something else. Though I admit that Konqueror's ability to open remote locations (FTP, SSH, Wbdav, etc) directly has also it's advantages.
